Browns Fire GM in the Living Room With the Wrench

I realize here in BSD land there's probably undo attention on the Browns however as news continues to swirl around them its moving them from sad sack to Clue like mystery. Behold I give you the firing of their GM, George Kokinis.

So this mystery starts a few days after Mangini was dumped to the side of the road by the Jets. Browns owner, Randy Lerner, jumped at the opportunity for Mangini and immediately hired him. Mangini, in turn, suggested the Browns hire his long time friend, George Kokinis. The catch was Kokinis would only take the job if he had final authority over the roster. The Browns gave him a contract, Kokinis signed, and then promptly vanished from the face of the earth. It became a running joke about the mystery GM, who never gave interviews, press releases, and was never even sighted at training camp.

That is until yesterday when Kokinis was fired "with cause" and physically escorted away from the Browns training facility. Rumors swirled that despite Kokinis' contract, Mangini made all of personnel decisions which led to bitter feud between the two - hence Kokinis' Claude Rains impressions. However we're still left with a number of mysteries. What is the basis for Browns firing "with cause". Simply a negotiating manuever to avoid paying Kokinis or something truly weird? Was the moved just designed as a sacrifical lamb to appease the angry public but not change the basic power structure of rule by Mangini or is this the first step to removing the brutal dictator? Why did Lerner give Mangini the power over Kokinis? And if the owner didn't what kind of crazy vacuum exists in Browns HQ? Its a mystery that hopefully time will solve. I'm betting on Colonel Mustard with the Rope in the Kitchen....
