Adding Fuel to the Fire Part II
Further raising of the stakes of The Game is that it could impact teams as far away as Boise State or Hawaii. The BCS system currently has 5 bowl games and as such grants 4 at large bids. One of these bids is reserved for a Mid-Major if it reaches the top 12 in the BCS rankings. However there is a little known clause that the Wizard of Odds has brought to our attention. If a non-major conference team finishes ahead of a conference winner it only has to finish in the top 16. Both Boise State and Hawaii (18th and 16th respectively) would have excellent shots at this as they are both in front of 21rst ranked M*ch*g*n. As such a M*ch*g*n victory would probably mean a mid-major in a BCS Bowl. Who knows how much more rage will The Game have now that the hopes and dreams of The Fighting Rainbows and Smurfs rest on its outcome....
