Cheers and Jeers: Rocktober Edition

The Official Beer of Rocktober: Rolling Rock

Yes folks its the end of Rocktober. Which means its time for Shivember, the time of football, basketball and the dreaded knee assassins. Here's a quick highlight of things to keep an eye on this November.

Where did Cheers and Jeers touch you?

1) The NBA - Can the Spurs make it back to back Championships for once? 5 times in a 10 years might make the Spurs near the dynasty category. November won't decide this but home court should go along way to deciding June in the competitive West.

2) Tom Brady's Knee - Probably the only thing that will prevent Brady from rewriting the NFL History books. An undefeated November? Shattering Manning's TD record? Being named greatest QB in the History of the universe? If Brady's knee holds up expect that discussion....

3) OJ Mayo - For those that are unaware OJ Mayo is the freshman phenom at USC. A number 1 talent with the ego of Kobe and Ron Artest's self control. Already he's been kicked off his high school team and broke the jaw of a fellow freshman. Who knows what he'll do next? Drop 50 on UCLA and then beat up Toby Mcguire? One can only hope

4) Those Elite 8s - While Florida and OSU lost their top talent to the draft the other elite 8 members (especially UCLA, UNC, Memphis, Georgetown) are returning at least 4 of their top 5 starters. Look for one of those teams to race out to the number 1 spot. (Note cheers and Jeers does not recognize pre-season polls)

with that said time for a little cheering and jeering

Cheers
: Game of the Week Indy v. Pats. See it. Love it. If your a Bucky Badger fan...Suck it. I'll also add Oregon v. Arizona State and Saban (Alabama) v. the Son of Saban (LSU) but lets be honest there is only one game this week

Cheers: To the Start of the NBA Season.

Jeers: To the fact that Steven A. Smith has re-appeared. Legend has it that if say his name 3 times he appears. You've been warned

Cheers: To the hot stove. MJ's favorite time of year. I look forward to his analysis. I say Schilling gets signed by Jesus

And our C&J gal of the week..Katherine Heigl of Grey's Anatomy and Knocked Up Fame (hence two pictures...enjoy)
