MMBSD: King Them

Our Boston Sports Overlords Continue Their Dominance

Well the regular season game of the century ended the way we thought it would, Tom Brady leading the victory and Manning being harassed into errors by the Patriots. Yes it was closer than the bettors in Vegas had expected and certainly leads open the question when the post season will see in their rematch(given a healthy Harrison and Gonzalez) but in the meantime the Patriots are Kings of the NFL. The Colts had the homefield, the defense played inspired and Brady made more mistakes than he had all year. Come winter in New England, the Colts speed will be less of a factor. Is it time to King the Pats? Its getting much closer.....

Kardiac Kids Part II: For those that are non-Clevelanders the Kardiac Kids were the 1980 team that had a series of heart attack inducing games. Evantually the team won the division ending the Steelers dominance before their season ended in the infamous Red-Right 88 play against Oakland (one of the top 3 most painful Browns memory). Well this year's Browns can officially be dubbed Kardiac Kids Part II. Week in and week out some of the most exciting football is being played with the Browns on the field. An unstoppable offense and unbelievable awful defense. Revenge and first place in the North will be on the line in next week's rematch against the hated Yinzer Steelers. Oh yes there will be blood.

I figure I should just get my hopes way way up.....

And for his next trick...Purple Jesus Adrian Peterson elevated his status to just Jesus this week (other Jesus will know be known as Carpenter Jesus). Slicing the Chargers defense like OJ on a bender Purple Jesus set an NFL rushing record (and possibly a fantasy football record for a running back). Just imagine how good he would be with a quarterback that wasn't from Wisconsin (is Brooks Bollinger a real name?)

Things I don't Really Understand: What happened to Mike Shanahan? A thrashing by Detroit at home? Where you ever good and just a product of John Elway or is it your just an awful GM? What does Green Bay at 7-1 mean? How much of a binger where the Saints on during the first 4 games? How often has an 0-4 team come back to win a division? Just remember each San Fran loss moves the Patriots (who own their draft pick) closer to the number 1 pick. Thank goodness that Spygate punished them...

Things I really like: This video of Favre touchdown set to techmo music is fantastic.

College Football Quick Hits: Thanks a lot BC, you opened the door to BCS madness. Sure there were a lot of unhappy people out there but now, now we've got pure division lobbying. Big 12 with their 3 candidates (Oklahoma, Kansas and yes in theory Missouri), Pac 10 with Oregon , and SEC with LSU will tout their 1 loss or maybe no loss teams. Hopefully the upset bug will continue to bite to clear up the mess (and frankly there is no reason to think it wont) but in the mean time there is no logical way to determine who deserves to go. LSU loss to Kentucky is better than Oregon's loss to Cal? Kansas' lack of heritage should keep it out of the big dance? Everyone knows that if the roles were reverse and Oklahoma had the undefeated record it would be Big Sooner #1 in the polls. The Conference Championships loom extra large this year...(oh and Navy won. To his credit Weis was classy in defeat, on the other hand he lost to Navy)

BC's loss may cause some problems...
