Hail to the Victors in Ohio

Well I am back from my trip to the "Heart of it all", the wonderful place where I grew up and follow all their major sports teams. My girlfriend and I went to visit my parents for the weekend. In that weekend, we went to a single A minor league baseball game (the Dayton Dragons), went to the Buckeyes game and watched the Reds on TV continue to fall into the depths of despair that are the Reds.

1) I had never been to a minor league baseball game, so I was really excited to go. We sat about 5 rows above the on deck circle right by where the net to catch foul balls ends (my goal of catching a foul ball wasn't achieved). I was impressed by the stadium and caliber of play. There was constantly entertainment between innings, including 10 year old cheerleaders dancing around, guys in frog outfits playing leap frog and 2 year old racing each other. The only thing that could have been improved was that the food and especially the beer was the same price as a normal ball park. I would think that they would try and make it more affordable for a family to go there.

2) Anyone that has not gone to a college football game in the Horseshoe, Big House, Notre Dame stadium etc is missing out on something big. My parents have season tickets to the Buckeye games in the first row of the top deck around the 40 yard line. Just the sheer volume of 105,000 people is crazy. Also the script Ohio is another cool thing, with the band making (or in our case 4) a script of Ohio on the field. Just a very cool experience. The Buckeyes offense looked really good, their defense will not win a national title. There were holes the size of Orlando Pace in the run defense line. Although Northern Illinois RB is extremely good, Mike Hart could easily have run through that defensive line. The game should have actually been around 35-21, because there were a couple of breakouts that should have been touchdowns and NI had an interception on the end zone. OSU's defense won't be able to play that badly against UM, TEX, and PSU.

3) The Reds suck and my previous post was incorrect, they don't deserve to win and I hope they finish dead last in the Central Division. Fuck em.
