Well, there’s not much else to say, other than this is a completely arbitrary line-drawing decision – choosing between 1-loss Michigan and 1-loss Florida. We may even be better off if we had a committee, like in basketball, and we lock them in a hotel for 4 days, and then they decide who plays who!
Anyway, I had been using Sagarin’s strength of schedule as an extra component in the calculation, but his is completely different than everyone else’s strength of schedule (I’m guessing Michigan gets propped up more because they played OSU and Notre Dame on the road, while Florida only played Tennessee and Auburn on the road)… So, below is the final Skynet rankings, without adding in a strength of schedule component. As you can see, Michigan is NARROWLY ahead of Florida. Depending on the strength of schedule selected, that would then determine whether Florida or Michigan would be selected by Skynet. Most likely, a non-Sagarin strength of schedule would be used by Skynet, and Skynet would choose Florida for the championship game.
