Tuesday Thoughts...

1) Each AFC contender has an Achilles heal.

San Diego? Well, if they wear the powder blues and old school bolts they might be unstoppable. Still... Marty ball lurks. They can go as far as their rookie QB can take them.

Denver? Good wins at home (NE, Cobra Commander) but anyone convinced that Jake's Mountain man mullet (please check out the pictures!!) can take the Broncos to the next level? The D is nasty.

Jax? Lost to the Skins. They are 3-2 but Oct 22 at Philly is the real test.

Indy? I'm not a fan of the notion that somehow, by not winning by 82 points, you're getting soft. A win is a win. Period. Winning by 1 or by 40 doesn’t change the fact the Colts are 5-0. See Mighty's post about Tressel not thumping Bowling Green.

Cobra Commander? Tied in Denver going into the 4th. Turnovers sealed the deal. 4-1 start aint bad for a team that consists mainly of TN titans scraps.

Cincy? Clearly the joy of the BSD but thumped by NE at home. Oct 22 vs Carolina is their next real test.

Defending Champs?? 1-3... say hello to Charlie Batch.

2) The NFC is mediocre.

Philly is the team to beat. Best in the NFC. Chicago is # 2 and until they beat anyone of substance I won’t believe it. Beating Buffalo? Yawn.

Rams and Seattle play this weekend and that game will determine the early favorites for the NFC West.

NFC South is wide open. ATL? NO? Carolina is creeping back into the mix. The AFC south and the AFC North = 2 most interesting races.

Next year I will be purchasing the Sunday ticket to avoid redskins regional coverage. Mark "I need Medicare" Brunnel needs to be replaced. Moss can't throw it to himself. I'm not so sure the Giants played well or the Skins played poorly... it looked like 2 mediocre teams playing a quasi-competitive game. Except the skins forgot you need things like points for the game to remain competitive.
