I saw that the Chicago White Sox left Brandon McCarthy off the postseason roster for the ALDS. Instead they took Orlando Hernandez. El Duque has playoff experience, especially against the Red Sox, but didn't McCarthy outduel Schilling on Labor Day? I don't know the exact stats but I remember him pitching pretty darn well that game. There wasn't someone else slightly more expendable than Brandon McCarthy? The (S)(W)hite Sox will be done by Friday evening so I guess it doesn't matter anyway but I really would've thought that Brandon McCarthy had earned a spot on the playof roster.
